Johnny is not only a Roaming Dragon Dungeon Master, but he is also Roaming Dragon Games CEO and Founder. Johnny started playing in 1980 with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Retired from the United States Navy after twenty-five years, he remembers how playing his favorite past-time of Dungeons & Dragons during the most difficult times of military service. He goes on to say, “Playing Dungeons & Dragons helped me get my mind off everything else that was going on in the world. How great it was to listen to the story I was in and have my attention in the game. It helped me be refreshed to tackle what the rest of the workweek had in store for me. I always knew I can count the days till our next session.” Johnny also explains how playing Dungeons & Dragons with his children created strong family ties. He still plays D&D with his children, although now they are all grown up. His oldest son living in Detroit, his brother in Austin, and his youngest son in high school jump in a campaign every Sunday afternoon. His daughter plays on as often as she can, how cool is that!! Johnny says it's due to the mental well being of playing this role-playing game, and strong friend and family connections that he decided to open Roaming Dragon Games after he retired from the military. Currently Johnny is a School Counselor for a Middle School and is focused on bringing Dungeons & Dragons to mental wellness focus groups for adolescents and adults. Helping teenagers and young adults with positive mental health and wellness is a big project you can find Johnny working on.
